Creating an Aporeto account
Aporeto provides the control plane as a service. You don't need to host your own control plane unless you really want to. To create an account in the control plane hosted by Aporeto, complete the following steps.
1. Signing up for an Aporeto account
From your browser, open the Register your account page and fill out the form.
Note: Use your company email address to expedite the approval process. We review and approve account creation requests manually, so it may take a few hours before you receive your activation link.
2. Activating your account
Once we have approved your request, you will receive an activation email. Click on the link in the email to finalize the registration procedure. It will open a login page in your browser.
3. Enabling two-factor authentication
The Aporeto account credentials provide exclusive access to the Aporeto Account Administration page and the base namespace. We strongly recommend securing your Aporeto account with two-factor authentication. Two-factor authentication requires a smartphone equipped with a one-time password (OTP) application like Google Authenticator or OTP app.
Open the Account pane and click Enable button under Two-Factor Authentication.
Scan the QR code with your OTP application. Type the code provided by your OTP application to activate two-factor authentication.
Next time you log in, you will need to enter a new one-time password code from your application.
Note: If you lose your device or your configuration, you can request to reset your password. Changing the password will disable two-factor authentication and you will need to reconfigure it.
